With one George Washington Duke apparently unable to deliver a stirring eulogy at the Michael Jackson Memorial yesterday, Reverand Al Sharpton was called upon to whip the masses into a frenzy with falsehoods and nursery rhymes and to send the King of Pop off in the fashion had grown accustomed…with a healthy dose of crazy. The right Reverend would like you to know that Oprah and Tiger Woods would have never been the successes they are today without Michael, he’d remind you that we’d have no black President without the contributions of a creepy pedophile…time constraints prevented Al from also crediting MJ with the discovery of the New World, the developing of the internet, cleaning up the Exxon Valdez spill, and getting Family Guy back on the air. After those well thought out progressions and conclusions, Sharpton also urged us as a people to ignore the shortcomings of the man and rather focus on his positive achievements, a practice Al has so vigilantly displayed over his illustrious career.
And in the days leading up to the event, Al went on his weekly syndicated radio show and questioned why CNN would whore themselves out with constant media coverage (Al was on CNN all week, just sayin’) and why the media as a whole would attack Michael Jackson (a man with obvious suspect shenanigans with young kids, a man who wears a mask in public because he has spackled and duct tape his face into hideous forms, a man who has blown through his fortune at an alarming rate, a man who has three alabaster-toned kids that look nothing like him) when he generates so much revenue for those outlets (Don Imus just read this and had a spell). The hypocrisy is so staggering that XM/Sirius radio hosts Opie & Anthony felt it necessary to devote damn near their whole show on Reverend Al yesterday and PWN him most righteously.
